He was born in Concepción (Chile) on August 16.
He studied Law at Universidad de Concepción and graduated as a Lawyer in 1990. In addition, he holds Magister in Public Law with Mention in Constitutional Law (P. Universidad Católica de Chile, 1997) and a diploma in Corporate Governments (Industrial Engineering Industries Department -Universidad de Chile, 2009).
He was a Ministry of Justice legal adviser (1990-2003), drafting reports about law, legislative advice, international treaty negotiation, promotion of arbitration, etc.
Between 2003 and 2010, he was legal assistant manager of Corporación de Fomento de la Producción (CORFO), where he was in charge of legal affairs, administrative advice, the development of new subsidies, the promotion of legal advice digital platforms, etc.
Moreover, he’s been the director of several harbor companies (Empresa Portuaria Arica, Empresa Portuaria Iquique); mining companies (CIMM), and from the energy sector (Pacific Solar S.A., Empresa de Desarrollo de Energías Renovables Alen Walung S.A., etc.).
He exercised freely the legal profession for the last years, especially in the energy, mining and corporate sectors.
Augusto has been a scholar at the Law School of the Universidad de Chile since 1993 where he teaches the Constitutional Law class.
He has authored several publications in specialized publications.
He is a member of the Chilean Committee of CIGRE (multinational consortium of electric companies created in 1921) and a member of the Regulatory Committee and Regulations of the Chilean Hydrogen Association.
